
Hon. Ralph Klein
Ralph Klein was Mayor of Calgary, Alberta from 1980 to 1989. He was first elected to the Alberta Legislative Assembly in 1989 and was also appointed Minister of the Environment in 1989. He was elected Leader of the Alberta Conservative Party in 1992 and sworn in as Premier of Alberta in 1992. In 1993, he also took on the portfolio of Minister of Federal and Intergovernmental Affairs and in 1994 added Minister of Economic Development and Tourism to his workload. He announced his retirement in 2005.
