DO SOMETHING! – 365 Ways You Can Strengthen Canadian Democracy
A Reception with Preston Manning hosted by John Williamson, MP
Tuesday February 25, 2020
6:00pm – 8:30pm
131 Queen Street Room 8-53, Ottawa, ON K1P 5C7
Declining voter turnout, cynicism, incompetence and nastiness are just a few of the symptoms endemic of a democracy in need of renewal. In his new book Do Something, author and Parliamentarian Preston Manning calls on Canadians to renew their nation’s ailing democracy.
Each chapter includes Action Lists for strengthening democracy and strengthening conservatism with pleas to the reader to Do Something in response. Preston says many of the action items represent the “unfinished business” of his life’s work in public
service – “things we had hoped to achieve but were unable to do. And thus, we pass them on, plus
some important additions, as a challenge to the next generation.”
Join Preston and MP John Williamson along with event sponsor Carleton University’s Clayton Riddell Graduate Program in Policial Management for a discussion on how we renew our democracy in Canada.
