The C.D. Howe Institute just had a good article in the Globe and Mail on expanding private health care in Canada.

Åke Blomqvist, the Institute's health policy scholar, makes the case for allowing doctors to supply their services outside of provincial plans. He argues this would help reduce waiting lists as some Canadians decide to begin paying out of pocket for faster care, (taking stress off the public system at the same time.)
