Wednesday, 25 January 2017 - 8:45am
The Manning Centre announced details today for the annual Manning Centre Conference (February 23-25 in Ottawa) – the largest annual gathering of conservatives and libertarians in the country.
Each annual conference features panel discussions, great speakers, training sessions and networking opportunities. However, this year’s conference will also include a leadership debate featuring those who are running for leader of the Conservative Party of Canada. The debate will use a unique format and will take place on Friday, February 24, from 3:00p.m – 5:00p.m. (EST) at the Shaw Centre.
“Our conference will provide an opportunity for Canadians to learn more about each candidate’s vision for the party and for Canada,” said Preston Manning, founder of the Manning Centre. “We should be particularly keen to hear what candidates propose to do about the nation’s rising debt.”
Some of the speakers and topics for the conference include:
- Mark Steyn, political commentator and author
- Frank Buckley, author and Trump campaign advisor
- Raheel Raza, human rights advocate
- Panel - CBC: Time to pull the plug or reform it?
- Panel - Censorship on university campuses
