On Friday, October 14, we learned of the tragic passing of Jim Prentice, a former Alberta Premier and cabinet minister in the Harper government.
Preston shared his thoughts about Jim on 770AM in Calgary, and issued the following statement:
"Sandra and I are deeply saddened to hear of Jim's passing. As a former premier, federal cabinet minister and lawyer he made substantial contributions to public life, which will long be appreciated and remembered. He also played a key role in the unification of conservatism at the federal level, a legacy that endures to this day. Canada's conservative movement, from coast to coast, will miss him dearly. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Karen, his children and grandchildren." - Preston Manning
As you can imagine, many others within Canada's conservative movement weighed in with their memories of Jim and thoughts on his contributions.
